Overview

Why choose Best Nagaland Hornbill Festival Tour Package with our Shimla-based experts?

Ready for the most colorful and powerful cultural experience in India? Every December, the 17 major tribes of Nagaland come together at the Kisama Heritage Village to celebrate the 'Festival of Festivals'—the Hornbill Festival. Our 10-day trip is designed to take you deep into the tribal heartland of the Northeast. You’ll witness synchronized ritual chants, explore traditional 'Morungs' (tribal huts), and meet the legendary tattooed headhunters of the Konyak tribe in Longwa village—where the chieftain’s house literally sits on the border of India and Myanmar. We handle all the Inner Line Permits (ILP) and provide sturdy mountain vehicles with experienced local guides who know the tribal traditions by heart. From slow-cooked Naga pork to the ancient warrior stories of Khonoma, we’ll show you the true, wild spirit of Nagaland.

Field Journal Verified Local Expert Note Kohima, Khonoma, Mokokchung & Mon

"We believe that travel in these mountains should never be rushed. Having spent years guiding travelers along these exact roads, my advice is to take the early morning walks when the air is absolutely crisp and local life is just starting. Avoid the generic tourist traps and ask our drivers to stop at the small roadside dhabas for fresh cedar-smoke chai. We don't just plan itineraries—we connect you with the real, unhurried soul of our home."
