Assam: Rhinos, Rivers & Tea Estates - 5 Days Valley Journey
Why choose Best Assam Wildlife and Tea Tour Package with our Shimla-based experts?
Local Insider Insight
The elephant-back safari requires booking at least 30 days in advance through the Kaziranga Forest Department's online portal — the 5:30 AM slot has only 12 seats per day and sells out immediately when the 30-day window opens. The jeep safari is more flexible (can be booked 2-3 days ahead through the same portal). The Majuli ferry runs only until 4:00 PM and the last return ferry from Majuli to Nimati Ghat departs at 3:00 PM. If you miss the last ferry, the alternative is a private speedboat (INR 1,500 per person, 15-minute transit) operated by the Majuli Boat Club from the same jetty, available until 5:30 PM.
Experience the natural beauty and rich traditions of the Brahmaputra valley on our 5-day Assam wildlife and tea tour. This journey takes you from the prehistoric grasslands of Kaziranga National Park—home to the world's largest population of the Great Indian One-Horned Rhino—to the sprawling tea estates that have defined Assam for over 150 years. You'll explore the lush green hills of Upper Assam, learn the secrets of making high-quality orthodox tea, and enjoy private sunset boat rides on the mighty Brahmaputra river. We’ve planned everything to be relaxed and authentic, with stays in premium jungle lodges and private AC rides from Guwahati. Whether you're watching rhinos in the wild or enjoying a traditional Bihu dance, every moment is made to show you the true heart of Northeast India.
"We believe that travel in these mountains should never be rushed. Having spent years guiding travelers along these exact roads, my advice is to take the early morning walks when the air is absolutely crisp and local life is just starting. Avoid the generic tourist traps and ask our drivers to stop at the small roadside dhabas for fresh cedar-smoke chai. We don't just plan itineraries—we connect you with the real, unhurried soul of our home."
