Why choose Best Majuli Island Tour Package with our Shimla-based experts?
Ready for a trip to a place where life moves with the rhythm of the river? Majuli is a beautiful, green island hidden in the middle of the mighty Brahmaputra. It’s a world of absolute peace, known for its old Vaishnavite monasteries (Sattras) and the unique culture of the Mising tribe. Our 3-day trip takes you from the tea gardens of Jorhat across the water to this sacred island. You’ll see monks performing ancient dances, meet families who have been making mythological masks for generations, and stay in traditional 'Chang-Ghor'—houses built on bamboo stilts. From watching the sunset over the shifting riverbanks to trying authentic Assamese meals, we’ll show you the real heart of island life. It’s the perfect escape for anyone who loves culture and nature.
"We believe that travel in these mountains should never be rushed. Having spent years guiding travelers along these exact roads, my advice is to take the early morning walks when the air is absolutely crisp and local life is just starting. Avoid the generic tourist traps and ask our drivers to stop at the small roadside dhabas for fresh cedar-smoke chai. We don't just plan itineraries—we connect you with the real, unhurried soul of our home."

Your trip begins in Jorhat. Our driver will take you to Nimati Ghat for a fun 1-hour ferry ride across the massive Brahmaputra river. Keep your camera ready as you pass by small sandy islands and see the local fishermen at work. Once we reach Majuli, we’ll head to your traditional bamboo-stilt homestay (Chang-Ghor). In the evening, take a slow walk through a nearby Mising village. You'll see local women weaving colorful clothes on their porches and children playing by the river. Enjoy a warm, home-cooked dinner featuring local smoked fish and organic rice. Altitude: 90m.

Next, we visit the famous Natun Samaguri Sattra. Here, master artisans will show you how they make masks of characters from the Ramayana using only natural materials. It’s an art form you won't see anywhere else! In the afternoon, head to the Uttar Kamalabari Sattra to watch a rehearsal of the graceful Sattriya classical dance. Spend your evening by the riverside, watching the sky turn orange over the water. Altitude: 90m.
