On the way, we’ll stop at the beautiful Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls for photos. Arrive in Munnar (1,600m) by late afternoon and check into your hill resort. Tea Heritage & Nilgiri Tahr Sightseeing 1,600m
Spend a full day exploring the beauty of Munnar. In the morning, visit Eravikulam National Park to see the rare Nilgiri Tahr mountain goat. Next, head to the Tea Museum to see how fresh leaves are made into high-quality tea. Visit the Mattupetty Dam and Lake, and take a slow walk through a private tea estate to enjoy the silence and the fresh air. Spend a quiet evening at your resort. Altitude: 1,600m.
Into the Spice Forests: Drive to Thekkady (110km) 900m
Today we head to the Cardamom Hills. The drive to Thekkady takes you through lush green forests and spice hamlets. In the afternoon, join a guided walk through a working spice plantation. You'll learn about the soil and the plants that produce the world's best pepper and cardamom. In the evening, watch a professional performance of Kalaripayattu martial arts.
